COMMUNITY EVENTS
In the spirit of community, we invite non-FADT clients to participate in all community organized events organized by the RCID.
Mandela Day
Happy Valley Fellowship School
As we have done in previous years, we would like to support The Happy Valley Fellowship School for children in Philippi.
They are looking for donations of warm blankets, and we are asking residents to donate specific soup ingredients such as soup mix, split peas, and stock cubes, and non-perishable foods like peanut butter, canned beans, pasta and rice. Click below for the full list.
Donations can be conveniently dropped off at the RCID offices.
If you would like to donate money to purchase ingredients, please click below for the bank details.
Welcome to RCID Cocktail Reception
We hold these informal evenings to welcome all residents who have moved into Rondebosch within the past year. The next one is on Thursday 7 November 2024. Accompanying cocktails provided by Silwood Cookery School, a short presentation on the role and purpose of the RCID, including our security initiatives and community events.
Eden & Eve Workshops
These workshops are for child-minders and staff working on your property in the neighbourhood. The workshop is a presentation by Rondebosch SAPS on pro-active measures to prevent an incident; safety tips whilst commuting to and from work, as well as the Do’s and Don’ts when visiting the park and walking in the street. We include time for questions and some snacks. The next workshop is on 27 February 2024, book your spot.
Street Braai
Each year, we have seen more and more street parties happening in the RCID area, and we encourage you to join in the fun. It’s a great way to get to know your neighbours and use our beautiful streets and spaces.
Arrangements are up to you. Neighbours wheel a few braais out onto the pavement, plus chairs and tables; everyone brings their drinks and braai items, and maybe a few families provide salads, etc. Please let me know if you are happy to co-ordinate plans for your road.
RCID Annual General Meeting
We’re thrilled to invite you to the RCID Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 24 October at 6 PM at Mickelfield School. We’d love to connect with new and younger residents in our community!
Join us for an evening where we can reflect on the past year, chat about what’s ahead, meet our new local Ward Councillor, and enjoy some cocktails with fellow neighbours.
